Born in Collingwood on October 31, 1953, a son of Audrey (nee Ferris) and the late Tom Hoggard of Thornbury, Bryan passed away following a lengthy illness at Collingwood Nursing Home on Thursday April 11, 2019 at the age of 65.
Bryan was a railway engineer with Canadian National Railway for many years until his retirement. He will be remembered as the beloved husband of Beth of Collingwood and the late Christine who predeceased him in 1990.Bryan will be the sorely missed Dad of Tom Hoggard and his wife Baan of Toronto and Kimberley and her husband Norm Gosset of Ottawa and grandfather to their son Bruce. He will also be recalled as a special step-father and Grandpa to Andrew and his wife Angie Reiche of Midland and their children Cash and Nahanni, and to Stephanie Reiche and her partner Stephen McCullough of Collingwood and their son Sawyer. He was a dear brother to Shirley Foster of Thornbury and was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Jean and is remembered by her husband Blair Cornfield of Collingwood. Bryan will be recalled with great affection by his aunt Alice Hoggard of Thornbury and by his several nieces and nephews and their families. Cremation has taken place and a memorial funeral service celebrating Bryan’s life will be conducted at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Thornbury on Thursday April 18, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with visiting the hour prior to service. A service of committal and interment of Bryan’s ashes will follow at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery followed by a reception in the fellowship hall of the church.
