A 30-year-old Owen Sound man has been charged with numerous weapons related offences after being arrested downtown Monday afternoon.
City police say just before 2:30 p.m. officers attended the area of 10th Street East and 3rd Avenue East, after receiving two separate calls from citizens alerting police to a male who was possibly armed and concealing a handgun in his waistband.
Police say a third citizen alerted officers of the male's whereabouts.
Owen Sound Police say the man was located moments later and safely taken into custody.
It turns out the man was in possession of a BB gun that closely resembled a real handgun.
Police say the accused was also found with a small amount of suspected Fentanyl.
The 30-year-old Owen Sound man faces charges of weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of fentanyl, breaching weapons prohibitions and breaching probation orders.
The accused will appear in bail court Tuesday.
