UPDATE: Meaford Museum confirmed that they will actually not be re-opening to the public as they are not allowed to welcome the public under the new shutdown rules. They hope to re-open when the lockdown is lifted.
Following a lengthy shutdown over the winter due to the pandemic, Meaford Museum plans to re-open to the public.
Reopening on April 1 , the museum will operate between Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Located at 111 Bayfield St. in Meaford, the museum features over nine thousand artifacts covering the history of the Municipality, including the former townships of St. Vincent and Sydenham, and their current exhibitions focus on the life of WW1, John Muir and natural history, as well as the “real story of Beautiful Joe.”
They also cover the history of local sports, police and firefighting in the municipality, apple and maritime industries, and the lifestyles of past Meaford residents.
