Saugeen Shores Police have laid a number charges under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
Police say since the Province’s stay at home order was put in place April 8th, they have issued 21 charges under the emergency order.
Police say charges have primarily come after public complaints and other calls for service, where officers found people in violation of the order.
They say examples have been Highway Traffic Act investigations, gatherings at residences and criminal offences.
Saugeen Shores Police say officers will be still employing a complaint driven model of enforcement, at the same time being watching for obvious violations of the emergency order.
Saugeen Shores Police say they also assist the RCMP with Quarantine Act compliance checks of travellers to Canada who cannot be verified remotely during the 14 day mandatory quarantine period.
Police say, if you need information, and it is not an emergency or a violation in progress, you can find all the information you need on the Province of Ontario and Saugeen Shores websites.
