The following information was submitted by the West Grey Police Service.
During the week of April 15 -22, 2021, the West Grey Police Service responded to 88 total calls for service.
Officers responded to three Unwanted Persons, 17 Police Assistance and 14 Suspicious Person Reports. Officers also provided assistance and de-escalation at seven Mental Health Act calls.
On April 15, 2021: West Grey Police responded to a disturbance call on Elgin Street, Durham. A 31 year-old male from Durham was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Breach of Release Order held by London Police Service. The male was taken into custody and received by London Police Service.
On April 16, 2021: West Grey Police were called to an address on Highway 6, Normanby after receiving an assault complaint. The suspect had fled but was located by officers a short time later. A 32 year-old female of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault and Mischief. She was processed and later released. She will appear in Walkerton Court at a later date.
On April 22, 2021: West Grey Police and West Grey Fire Department along with Grey Paramedics responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Maplewood Road and Concession 2 WGR. One involved person suffered internal injuries and was airlifted by Ornge to London Medical Centre. Investigation is ongoing with charges pending.
