Meaford Hall is undergoing some technical upgrades while its doors are closed to concerts.
A release notes, through a grant from the Ministry of Canadian Heritage and fundraising support from the Meaford Culture Foundation, the hall was able to purchase new equipment and make some replacements for the theatre this year. The Foundation presented Mayor Barb Clumps and Meaford Hall Manager Susan Lake with the first installment of its $65,000 commitment to the upgrade.
Among the purchases made, the hall bought a new screen projector, wireless microphones, new LED performance lights, and an assistive listening system controlled via smartphone.
“As soon as we have the green light from the province with a capacity that makes financial sense to reopen, we will present a great line-up of new and rescheduled shows,” says Lake. “We know our audience is ready as soon as it is safe to return and we are all looking forward to a return to live events at our venue.”
The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
