A public meeting is set to be held at South Bruce Peninsula town hall to discuss a proposed four-storey boutique hotel in Sauble Beach.
Mayor Janice Jackson says the meeting will start at 9 a.m., Tuesday July 6th. Residents are welcome to write to council about the proposal, or to show up in person to make a statement before council.
The meeting will be held in person with five people in the gallery at a time, waiting to speak, and then rotating out with others waiting outside.
Jackson expects a fair amount of people to show up. She notes, the meeting will be recorded and posted online later in the afternoon Tuesday.
The four-storey hotel would be called the Lake Shore Inn and would feature 21 units in what is currently a vacant lot across from the Crowd Inn.
Jackson says the proposal includes a restaurant and patio on the ground floor.
She says so far reaction to the idea, proposed by a private developer, has been mixed. The developer hopes to begin building this year and the goal is to open in May 2023.
