Meaford Council has approved a recommendation to award a tender of over $300,000 to supply fuel and oil to the municipality’s fleet vehicles.
A council report notes the recommendation is to enter a five-year contract with 941-2401 Heating Ltd. o/a Bryan’s Fuel.
The contract would start on Sept, 1 2021, and end Aug. 1, 2026.
Among the four companies which applied for the tender, Bryan’s Fuel was the cheapest option.
For 2021, the budget for this service was set at over $288,000.
As a result of operational changes from the installing of the fuel management system, the proposed annual budget to start in 2022 will be raised to just over $300,000.
Included in the budget is costs for regular unleaded gas, clear diesel, dyed diesel, and fuel management system.
