Grey Bruce has reached another Covid vaccine milestone: 200,000 doses.
The health unit passed the mark as the province enter Step Three of its re-opening plan last week.
Public Health says the majority of Covid infections and deaths now are among those who are still unvaccinated.
As of July 15, the health unit documented 74 per cent of the eligible population has received their first dose of the vaccine, while 61 per cent received their second.
The health unit notes while this milestone is a success, there are still a couple weeks left to ramp down the mass immunization campaign in large hockey hubs and transition to the targeted effort.
Starting at the end of the month, all large vaccine hubs will be shut down to return to community use. Before this occurs, everyone is encouraged to go get their shot.
Upon the closure of the large hubs, smaller stations will be set up after Aug. 1, including pop-up mobile clinics, drive-through clinics, First Nations clinics, hospital delivery, and workplace clinics.
