Georgian Bluffs Council has approved a tender worth over $228,000 for the Concession 7 Reconstruction project.
A council report from Georgian Bluffs Operations and IT Coordination Brian Anderson notes the project is geared to be completed by Oct. 1.
The tender awarded was slightly over the $225,000 allocated for the work.
The contract being awarded to Harold Sutherland Construction was lowest of three bids received.
The road surface has already been treated twice between Grey Road 16 and Sideroad 3 due to its poor condition of cracking and wheel rutting.
The road has seen an increase in truck traffic traveling to both the quarry and biodigester, both on Side Road 3.
Georgian Bluffs Director of Operations Steve Dollmaier says, “we are looking to do a proper polymerization base, base stabilization, clean up the shoulder, add properly three inches of materials, and do asphalt.”
