Arran-Elderslie has a new fire chief.
Steve Tiernan has been hired on full-time.
A release from the municipality says Tiernan is a Bruce County resident.
He was, at one time Gananoque Fire Chief and District Chief for Northen Bruce Peninsula.
He graduated from Humber College’s Fire Service Management program with Fire Officer 4 certification and has extensive training emergency management.
The municipality says Tiernan has been in the role of an instructor with live fire and technical rescue.
