Georgian Bluffs has a new CAO.
A release from the Township says, after a thorough recruitment and selection process, the Township of Georgian Bluffs has appointed Cynthia Fletcher as Chief Administrative Officer.
Fletcher brings over 22 years of public sector leadership experience, with the Public School Board, City of Kitchener and most recently as the Commissioner of Infrastructure and Planning Services with the City of Peterborough.
The Township says, “She has formal training in engineering, social work, leadership development and project management. She has extensive experience guiding diverse teams, facilitating many partnership opportunities and leading major strategic planning initiatives.”
Fletcher says in a statement, “I would like to thank Mayor Burley and Council for trusting me as the Township’s next CAO. Every municipality has been through an extraordinary time over the past couple of years and I plan to support the Township through pandemic recovery. ”
I am excited about the prospects for Georgian Bluffs and can’t wait to meet our talented staff team. Over the next few weeks, our family will be transitioning to the area and familiarizing ourselves with our new community. I look forward to becoming connected within the Township and working with staff and Council on the important priorities for our community.”
Mayor Dwight Burley says in a statement, “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Ms. Fletcher as our new CAO. With immense experience, expertise and professionalism, Council is confident Ms. Fletcher will lead our Township successfully into the future. On behalf of council and staff, welcome to the Township of Georgian Bluffs.”
Since September, Township Clerk, Brittany Drury filled the role of Interim CAO. That followed the resignation of CAO, Al Meneses in early August.
