Owen Sound Attack forward Logan LeSage is moving on from the Ontario Hockey League, and has committed to play for the Queen’s Gaels Men’s hockey program in U Sports for the 2022-23 season.
The 20-year-old forward was eligible to return to the Attack for his overage season, but chose to move forward with his career after being accepted into Queen’s University’s business program.
“I felt Queen’s was the perfect place for me to develop as a hockey player while continuing my education at a first-class institution,” LeSage says in a statement provided by the Attack.
LeSage spent parts of two seasons with the Attack after being drafted by the club in the second round, 29th overall in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
His time with the team was interuppted by the pandemic shutdown, which wiped out the end of the 2019-20 campaign and all of the 2020-21 OHL season.
The Neapean, Ont., native known for his physical play on the ice compiled 30 points (10-20–30) and 72 penalty minutes in 76 regular season games with the Attack during the 2019-20 and 2021-22 OHL seasons. He added an assist and 13 penalty minutes in Owen Sound’s seven game first-round playoff series loss against the Flint Firebirds.
“The Attack organization wants to wish Logan all the best as he moves forward with his career, and look forward to all the success that will come him way,” the team says in a release.
