A community gathering is planned in Paisley Wednesday evening for a final farewell to the Teeswater Bridge.
Arran-Elderslie Mayor Steve Hammell will share some words and festivities are planned including live music, a heritage talk and a cake cutting as a send-off for the 87-year-old crossing.
The event will go from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Teeswater River Bridge is scheduled to close to traffic today for a 13-month replacement project.
A temporary bridge over the Saugeen River will connect Church and Goldie Streets in Paisley during the closure period.
