Two separate public walkways in Inverhuron were topics of discussion for Kincardine Council.
The first was from Victoria Street to the lake, which spans 66 feet and is 12 feet across.
Councillor Bill Stewart said that the signage was taken down for the walkway, which led to the surrounding neighbours encroaching on the municipal land.
It wasn’t brought to the municipality’s attention until one neighbour was getting ready to build a garage on the walkway, as it wasn’t recognizable or clearly marked.
Council has approved a motion to have the walking path reclaimed, and signs put back up.
The second path that was under discussion by council was from Lake Street to the beach.
Deputy Mayor Randy Roppel had brought it to council’s attention, saying it was the only pathway to the beach and was a considerable safety concern.
He proposed that the municipality work quickly to complete repair work on it so it would be safe for everybody to use, and avoid any liability if someone got hurt while using the path.
