Grey Bruce is receiving $14.5 million from the province to assist the region with ambulance services.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers says Bruce County will be receiving $6.3 million, while Grey County will receive $8.4 million to help with the hiring of additional paramedics, wage and cost of living adjustments, and general ambulance services operation.
This funding is part of a larger investment of about $764 million from Ontario’s annual Land Ambulance Service Grant (LASG).
Through the grant, municipalities receive funding for 50 per cent of costs for their land ambulance operations.
“This funding will help better our ambulance services in the region and improve the quality of care residents of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound receive,” says Byers.
