The Meaford Hospital Foundation is celebrating the facility’s 70th anniversary with a concert next month.
The fundraising concert featuring The Legendary Downchild Blues Band, is set for Nov. 4 at the Meaford Hall.
Foundation Chair Vince Rogers says the fundraising has gone well as they have been receiving support from the community.
“The foundation raises funds for equipment that the hospital uses that the medical personnel would use. So we have got scopes, we have got microscopes, diagnostic equipment that needs to be purchased, there is a mental health initiative that we are bringing in the funds for, there are lots of needs,” says Rogers.
Rogers says while the event celebrates the hospital’s 70 years of servicing the community, it also goes beyond that.
“It’s really a celebration of the health care workers who have been there for 70 years as well. We are just really excited to share it with people, we have had lots of people coming in and telling us their experience at the hospital, and even just past employees coming in and telling us about the hospital and the history of it. It has really been a very exciting time,” says Rogers.
The event will have a small reception prior to the concert and tickets can be purchased on the foundation’s website here.
