Saugeen Shores Committee of the Whole has received a report detailing a marketing plan for Innovation Park, with the goal of selling 17 lots.
During a meeting on April 24, the committee received a report for information from Economic Development Officer Heather Hyde.
The report says with the progression of advancing Innovation Park, with April 13 marking the start of construction and the readying of lots, the market strategy will seek to inform those in the clean energy industry of the opportunity for purchase.
“The focus area of the Innovation Park is really to attract businesses located in the clean energy industry. What we mean when we say that is anyone and any business who is in clean energy, hydrogen, nuclear, solar, even if it relates to research and technology like isotopes,” says Hyde.
There are currently 17 lots on the 23-acre business park and the marketing plan will provide information on the park and highlight the opportunity it will provide.
The report adds there will be multiple phases of marketing until all the lots are sold, with the current plan outlining action items until early 2024, and will continue to evolve.
The pieces of marketing include an overview of the park, a map, and and investing in Saugeen Shores profile.
“As the price per acre may fluctuate with the market each individual purchase agreement will outline the price per acre along with any recommendations to include areas of the Economic Development Community Improvement Plan in the agreement,” says the report.
This is the latest in the process of developing Innovation Park after the municipality purchased the land in 2018, with construction, which will include grading, internal road, and services, set for between April and September of this year.
