The Municipality of Meaford is celebrating the inclusion of people of all abilities during National AccessAbility Week.
The week is observed and celebrated from May 28th to June 3rd.
The municipality is starting off by flying its accessibility flag on May 29th, at the downtown Market Square flag poles.
Each night for the remainder of the week, the water tower will be lit up in blue and yellow to recognize accessibility as well.
On Tuesday, May 30th, there will be a chair yoga class at the Meaford and St Vincent Community Centre, led by Paula Stepan. Space is limited, and you can register here.
Wednesday, May 31st is Red Shirt Day for AccessAbility and Inclusion, where everyone is invited to wear red to create a visible display of solidarity, show support for those with a disability and their families, and celebrate the achievements of disabled Canadians.
The municipality will be showcasing a documentary at the Meaford Public Library at 2 pm in the FOML room in honour of AccessAbility Week. Refreshments will be provided, but space is limited. You can register here.
