The Owen Sound Attack held their annual awards barbecue on Sunday. More than a dozen awards were given out to players for various achievements during the 2022-23 season.
Ray McKelvie Award
Nico Addy was presented the award for being the team’s first-round draft choice at the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.
Hardest Working Player Award
Deni Goure and Matthew Papais were co-winners. The pair were each voted as the hardest working player of the game eight times throughout the 2022-23 season.
Helen Lewis Award
Ethan Burroughs earned the award through his dedication to the team both at the rink and in the community.
Red Leckie Memorial Award
Ethan Burroughs won the recognition. He spearheaded an equipment drive to benefit youths of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, and acted as the Attack Hockey Gives Blood Ambassador.
Pat McReavy Memorial Award
Taos Jordan earned the award by being the Attack’s unsung hero every game with his commitment to doing whatever the team needed to win.
Harry Lumley Memorial Award
Antonio Tersigni won the honour after his rookie season with the Attack.
Harry Kazarian Memorial Award
James Petrovski and Nolan Seed both showed tremendous growth throughout the season to earn the award.
Dan Snyder Memorial Award
Attack defenceman Nolan Seed showed throughout the season his ability to maintain a positive outlook even through difficult times to earn the award.
Dave McComb Memorial Award
Gavin Bryant earned the award through his leadership on and off the ice, while he navigated a challenging season due to injuries.
Howard Hindman Memorial Award
Colby Barlow not only earned the Attack’s Scholastic Player of the Year, but also the OHL and CHL Scholastic Player of the Year awards by his strong commitment on and off the ice.
Tommy Burlington Award
Colby Barlow led the team with 46 goals and 79 points throughout the regular season. Both numbers were tops among draft eligible prospects in the OHL.
Jerry Reid Memorial Award
Colby earned the Regular Season MVP as he led the team in scoring.
Butch Keeling Memorial Award
Cedrick earned the team’s Playoff MVP honours by stepping up his game. He had five points in four games against London.
