Centre Grey Health Services Foundation has received a $50,000 donation from the third edition of the RAM Rodeo.
Grey Highlands council gathered recently to present the funds to the foundation from the event on May 27 and 28, which the municipality says was the biggest and most successful yet.
The actual proceeds raised from the rodeo were around $48,500, but council members announced personal donations to top it up to $50,000.
This brings the total amount of funds donated over the past three years to $120,500.
The foundation fundraises for hospital projects and local healthcare services.
Grey Highlands Mayor Paul McQueen thanked a number of sponsors for their support since the first Grey Highlands RAM Rodeo in September 2021.
“A huge debt of gratitude goes to our community who has supported this event by purchasing tickets and filling the stands throughout the weekend,” says McQueen. “It’s a true testament of what we can accomplish by working together.”
Council also approved the municipality hosting the fourth annual Grey Highlands RAM Rodeo in 2024. Proceeds from the event will go towards the new Markdale hospital.
