Saugeen Shores wants to hear from residents on options to address safety concerns at a local intersection.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says an assessment of the intersection at Railway Street (Highway 21) and McNabb Street in Southampton is underway.
“We have heard for a long time in that area and folks from across the community that is an intersection we need to look at, it’s a busy intersection with lots of new residential development in that area and so there are some difficulties, particularly for folks going onto Highway 21,” says Charbonneau.
He says the town has started a study to identify options, which could include installing traffic lights or a roundabout.
“This is part of that process of going to the public and presenting different alternatives and hearing back from the public about what alternatives that they think would work and what their concerns might be,” says Charbonneau.
An information session will be held on Aug. 24 at Southampton Town Hall from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
