Grey Bruce Hospice is appointing a new Executive Director.
The hospice says starting Wednesday, Dr. Sabrina Saunders will start her new role.
Dr. Saunders is Delaware and Mohawk from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. She first began her involvement with Grey Bruce Hospice as a member of the Board of Directors in 2020.
As the Vice-Chair for the organization, she voluntarily acted as the shadow Executive Director of Grey Bruce Hospice as a result of the staffing short fall from May to October in 2022.
She has also spent decades working in provincial policy and organizational change, bringing with her 17 years of executive leadership and advocacy to the role.
Dr. Saunders will take over the position after current Executive Director Janet Fairbridge plans moves to a new role with the United Way of Thunder Bay.
