The Township of Georgian Bluffs is looking for people to sit on a new Joint Police Services Board.
The township says with upcoming changes to the Community Safety and Policing Act, they are taking applications to join the new group.
The group will include elected officials from each municipality and four community members representing, Georgian Bluffs, Chatsworth, Meaford, Grey Highlands, Southgate, South Bruce Peninsula, Northern Bruce Peninsula, Saugeen First Nation, and Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation.
Anyone who lives in one of these communities and would like to support community well being is invited to apply.
Those on the board will receive compensation and will be reimbursed for travel mileage to and from meetings.
“The opportunity offers a chance to actively participate in shaping local law enforcement and safety initiatives,” says the township.
Those interested in submitting an application can visit the municipal website here, email clerks@georgianbluffs.ca or by visiting the clerk’s office.
