The City of Owen Sound will be closing a few roads today for the triathlon.
Starting at 7 a.m., the city will be fully closing off 1st Avenue West from the pedestrian bridge to the 10th Street bridge, right turn lane onto 1st Avenue West on 10th Street bridge, and 1st Avenue East/17th Street East to 2nd turn-around point.
Additionally, only local traffic will be allowed on these roads:
-11th Street West, from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
-12th Street West, from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
-13th Street West, from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
-14th Street West, from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
-11th Street East, from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
-17th Street East, from Miller Silos to 2nd Avenue East
The city says police will be present along the routes to ensure participants are safe during the event.
Road users are advised to remain cautious and alert when travelling through these areas.
