One man has been arrested in relation to an assault in the Town of the Blue Mountains.
Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP say just before 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 1st, they responded to a 911 call on 6th Side Road near Kolapore forest.
OPP say, when officers arrived they determined an assault and mischief had occurred.
The suspect fled the scene into the nearby bushes before officers got there.
With the help of the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and Grey Bruce OPP, officers set up containment and conducted a search of the area for the suspect.
They say the man had broken into an outbuilding on a nearby property in order to evade police.
Officers say, with the help of several tips from the community, the accused was located and placed under arrest.
The 52-year-old male of Wellington North Township, has been charged with the following offences:
Assault with a weapon
Uttering Threats
Mischief under $5000
Harassing Communication
Break and Enter
Breach of an Undertaking
OPP say the name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim. The accused will be scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
