You may hear some gunfire coming from the Meaford area this week.
There is a live-fire military training exercise planned at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre in Meaford (also known as the old tank range).
The Canadian Armed Forces say it’s set to take place on August 19th and 20th.
Soldiers from the 56th Field Regiment, which is a mainly reservist regiment based out of Brantford, St. Catherines, & Simcoe will be conducting live fire exercises and noise from ranges at the training centre in Meaford between 7:30 a.m. and 11p.m.
You may hear sounds from weapons and large-calibre guns firing simultaneously.
The military says, “This is a training exercise; there will be no safety concerns to the public,” adding, “The Commanding Officer thanks the public for their continued support to our military community.”
