The new Owen Sound 2025 waste calendars are now available for pick up at various city facilities.
The city says as a result of the now-ended Canada Post strike and an effort to reduce waste, residents are invited to pick up their calendars to keep track of when they can dispose of their waste.
A physical calendar can be picked up at city hall, the transit terminal and the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Library, or can be accessed online here.
The city says some new changes this year include now accepting corrugated cardboard in the regular bi-weekly blue box collection. The cardboard must be broken down to a maximum size of 24″x18″x6″, or about the size of a carry-on suitcase, and must be bundled or placed in a container.
Additionally, residents will need to continue to sort their recyclables into containers like pop cans, glass jars, and water bottles, and into fibres like corrugated cardboard, paper and boxboard.
This June, the city’s waste management services will be enhanced with a green bin collection, with more details coming this spring.
