Meaford is appointing a new Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Shawn Everitt will be taking on the two-year contract role on April 8 and comes to the municipality with over 30 years of municipal experience from the Town of The Blue Mountains.
While at the Town of The Blue Mountains, Everitt worked as the Manager of the Community Centre, Director of Community Services, and most recently, CAO.
The Municipality says in a release Everitt’s deep understanding of municipal operations, strategic planning, and community engagement will be invaluable as he steps into this role.
While working as Meaford’s CAO, Everitt will oversee municipal operations, support staff, and work with council to execute strategic priorities and deliver services and programs to residents and businesses.
Mayor Ross Kentner says, “His proven leadership, dedication to public service, and passion for the South Georgian Bay region make him an excellent fit for our community. We look forward to working together to continue building a strong, vibrant Meaford.”
Everitt says he is very excited to get to work.
“This will be a big change after more than 30 years with The Blue Mountains, but I have a deep passion for this incredible region and feel extremely fortunate to have this opportunity,” says Everitt.
The municipality also thanks Valerie Manning for stepping in as the Interim CAO during this transition period.
