Owen Sound Police are appealing for tips after five masked suspects allegedly stole merchandise from a west-side convenience store.
Police say it happened Friday afternoon. The suspects made off with about $800 in goods.
“Five masked suspects entered the premises and immediately selected merchandise, placing items in their backpacks, before fleeing the store with the unpaid items. No violence or threats of violence were used towards the store clerk, however the value of the theft was significant,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
Police didn’t identify exactly which convenience store the theft occurred at.
Owen Sound Police say one of the alleged thieves, a male youth, has been arrested. Another one has been identified.
But police are still trying to confirm the identities of the three others, and are asking anyone with information to contact Owen Sound Police or Crime Stoppers.
