The City of Owen Sound’s Leaf and Yard Waste site will be re-opening its gates next week.
On April 14 at 8:30 a.m., people will be able to dispose of grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, as well as branches ad shrubs seven days a week until 8 p.m.
The compost site is exclusively for people who live in Owen Sound and Georgian Bluffs, but the city is working with the Municipality of Meaford for a usage agreement for this season.
Commercial businesses who wish to dispose of any waste can register through the city’s website here.
The compost site will not take plastic bags, garbage, kitchen and food waste, pet waste, treated wood, soil, and trees and branches more than 15 centimetres in diameter.
Owen Sound will be temporarily using a portion of the site to store tree trunks as the city undergoes a large-scale tree removal.
