Surrounded by the love of his family, Don passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side at Lee Manor in Owen Sound, on Friday, June 25th, 2021. Born on August 24th, 1938, Donald Linus Duggan of Owen Sound and formerly of Annan, was in his 83rd year.
Dearly loved husband and best friend of Karen Duggan (nee Shea) for 59 years. Loving father of Steven Duggan of Owen Sound, Shelley Apostoli (Nino) of Richmond Hill, Krista Ballis (Mike) of Pickering, Maria Barley (Colin) of Newmarket and Sarah Duggan (Parwaiz Aminyar) of Bradford. Proud grandfather of Michael, Daniel (Taylor), Alyssa (Kyle), Liam and Sean. Dear brother of Lorraine Sprung (Harvey) and Sharon Johnston (Orville) both of Owen Sound, Yvonne Harron (Gary) of Allenford, Loretta Bates (Garry) of Dryden, Lou Duggan (Susan Marlow) of Mississauga, Dennis Duggan of Brampton and brother-in-law of Paddy Hillyer (Tim) of Owen Sound, and Frank Shea Jr. of Chatham. Don will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Pat and Annie Duggan, his parents-in-law, Frank Sr. and Eleanor Shea, his sisters-in-law, Gail Duggan and Alanna Shea, his niece, Stacey Jones, his nephew, Mark Sprung.
A Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Tuesday, June 29th from 1 – 3 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. With COVID 19 restrictions guests must wear a mask, follow social distancing protocols and schedule a time by calling the funeral home or RSVP through the website. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 554 15th Street East, Owen Sound on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. and although it is private, friends are welcome to view the service via livestream on the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). The Mass will be officiated by Father Wojciech Kuzma and interment will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Irish Block.
