The Owen Sound Fire Department has assisted in bringing a boat back to shore after its engine died on the waters of Georgian Bay.
Fire Chief Doug Barfoot says they received word of the 29-foot sail boat around 6 p.m. on July 25 from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton, and helped tow it back to Georgian Shores Marina.
Barfoot says the vessel was making its way back to shore when the engine gave out and the boaters were not in an area where there was any wind to carry them back to the docks.
No injuries were reported.
