Rouse, Bonna
Passed away at Chapman House, Owen Sound, Friday, September 24, 2021. Bonna Clara Rouse (nee Goodwill) of Owen Sound, formerly of Markdale in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of the late Wayne E. Rouse. Loving mother of Kathie Tremblay and her husband Brian of Durham, and Beth McKellar (the late Jake) of Vancouver, B.C. Dear sister of Garnet Goodwill (the late Anne) of Markdale. Cherished grandmother of Stephanie Holland of Orillia, Dean Young of Grand Prairie, A.B., and Matthew McKellar of Vancouver B.C. Remembered by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.
Predeceased by parents James Goodwill and Clara Amanda (Bluhm), and beloved stepmother Dorothy Goodwill.
Bonna was a graduate of Northern Business College in Owen Sound, where upon graduation she was immediately hired to teach at the college. Following her marriage to the love of her life Wayne, the couple moved to Lions Head where they farmed. There were several moves in their lives – In Elliot Lake, Bonna took on the role of municipal clerk for the Crown Corporation, then to Markdale where she served as municipal clerk for several years, and then a move to Blythe, where she served as the assistant clerk in Hullett Township until retirement. She was a long-time and active member of Grey Roots Museum. Bonna lived life to the fullest.
A private funeral service will be held at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, followed by interment in Markdale Cemetery.
