Eva Elfreida Emily Williton (nee Robinson)
Passed away suddenly at home on Monday, January 17, 2022 in her 84th year.
She is survived by her daughters Valerie Kim Hendrie, Marie Helene Lyon and Rosanna Williton. Sadly missed by four grandchildren, Ryan and Troy Fournier, Andrew Hendrie and Samuel Lyon. She is now reunited with her loving husband James Kenneth Williton. Predeceased by her daughter Anna Marie, her son-in-law John Hendrie, her parents Henry Wilfred Robinson and Olive Lolita Brown and sister, Dorothy Rickets.
Elfrieda was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy in the 50’s, leaving it to raise a family. She supported Ken in the 70’s and 80’s in the operation of Ken’s Auto Body Shop on 1st Ave. West in Owen Sound. Elfreida took the leap at 50 years of age and went back to Laurentian University to obtain her degree in Social Work and proudly launched a new career. She later served as a Commissionaire in the Owen Sound area for many years. Elfreida had a love of cooking demonstrated by her collection of more than 300 cookbooks and was a long time member and supporter of the Women’s Institute in the region. Also interested in family genealogy, she collected memorabilia and stories to add to the family trees.
A Spring service and internment at Zion Cemetery near Hepworth, will be arranged. As an expression of sympathy donation to the Heart and Stoke foundation would be welcome. Messages of condolence can be sent to ewilliton22@gmail.com.
