Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

The Port Elgin Chrysler ’22 Ontario Tankard Powered by Bruce Power begins tonight.
Eight of the 12 teams in the field will see action tonight in the opening draw at 7:30 pm
Scott Mitchell of Whitby meets Fraser Reid from Blue Water
Shane Latimer, also from Whitby faces Mark Kean of Ingersoll
The Sam Steep rink from KW takes on Jason Camm of Navan
And finally the Dylan Niepage rink of Guelph goes against another KW rink; Sam Mooibroek
The other 4 rinks in the field will see action at 9:30 am tomorrow morning
Glenn Howard of Penetanguishene, Pat Ferris from Grimsby, the Tanner Horgan rink from Cataraqui and Leaside’s John Epping will all be matched up against the respective winners of tonight’s game
With 12 rinks competing the format has been altered to, in essence, a triple knockout affair with 3 flytes, making it conceivable that a rink that loses their opener tonight will be facing a road of 7 more matches over 4 days in order to come through the back door.
That’s interesting.
And that’s exciting
And that’s why the Port Elgin Curling Club is primed to be hosting the Port Elgin Chrysler ’22 Ontario Tankard Powered by Bruce Power which starts tonight at The Plex.
If you’re lucky enough to have a ticket, enjoy the week. And if not you can follow the results on 560 CFOS and at www.curlon.ca
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
