The Owen Sound Attack peppered the Kitchener net with nearly 70 shots on Saturday night, but Pavel Cajan stood tall and stole a win for the visiting Rangers.
Cajan made 65 saves and Joseph Serpa scored 1:14 into overtime as Kitchener escaped the Bayshore Community Centre with a 4-3 win over the Attack in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.
Navrin Mutter scored twice and Mitchell Martin also added a goal for Kitchener, which led 3-2 after two periods before the Attack found an equalizer in the third to force overtime.
Deni Goure had the game-tying goal for the Attack. Servac Petrovsky and Sam Sedley also scored.
Cajan was the story of the game in the Rangers’ net as the Attack outshot Kitchener 68-29.
Nick Chenard finished with 25 saves for Owen Sound, making his ninth straight start in goal.
Next up for the Attack (19-19-2-2) are back-to-back home games against Barrie (20-15-4-0) and Kitchener (18-19-2-1) Tuesday and Wednesday.
