Terence Dean Harley in his 83rd year.
Former Georgetown Herald News Editor and Assignment Editor and Assistant News Director for radio station CFOS Owen Sound.
Survived by the love of his life the former Marlene Tizzard and dearly loved daughter and son. Elisa Gay Harley of Nova Scotia and Russell Keith Harley (Kelly) of Stratford. Also survived by sister-in-law Mae and many nephews and nieces as well as in-laws Jack and Dawn Tizzard and Eleanor Tizzard.
Born and raised in Georgetown, Ontario and former resident of Kemble, Sauble Beach and Stratford.
Predeceased by his parents Dean Stanley Harley and Bertha Harley (Follett) and by brothers, sisters-in-law and sisters and brothers-in-law. Doug (Vassy), Ray (Mary) , Gord (Peg/Jean), Brock (Diane/Martha), Bruce, Jean Hancock (Don) and Bessie Adams (Don). Also predeceased by in-laws Roy (Buck) and Elsie Tizzard, Al and Joan Truchan, Joe and Doreen Annette, Gary and Thelma Sherrifs and Roy Tizzard Jr.
An avid dog lover Terry was also predeceased by a lifetime of furry four legged companions Pal, Major, Danny, Kip, Tar, Bonnie, Sara, Meghan, Molly and Paji.
Terry enjoyed his news career and a full leisure life that included travelling throughout Europe, golfing, bicycling, camping, canoeing, hiking the Bruce Trail, writing guest columns and poetry, reading British authors, listening to good music, smoking his pipe and feeding the Stratford swans.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held in the Reception Centre of the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, March 4, from 1-4 p.m. All attending must show proof of double vaccination and photo ID.
