A South Bruce man and a Huron-Kinloss woman are among four people charged after a search warrant was executed in Huron County.
OPP say they recovered over $250,000 in stolen property, including trucks, motorcycles and trailers. OPP say drugs and firearms were also seized.
OPP say on Thursday, May 12th members from the Grey-Bruce, Middlesex-Elgin, Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crime Units, along with assistance from West Region Emergency Response Team and OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit executed search warrants at three properties in the Municipality of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
Two properties werre located on Zion Road and another was on Belfast Road.
OPP say, two additional search warrants were later executed on two vehicles.
Police say they also seized suspected methamphetamine and hydromorphone with an estimated street value of $3,080.
Three firearms, ammunition and a compound bow were also seized.
Some of the stolen property that was recovered included, a zero-degree turn lawnmower, a skid steer, four pickup trucks, three motorcycles, a side-by-side Utility Vehicle (UTV), an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), a camper trailer and two utility trailers.
Police also seized a kit they say is used for changing Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) on vehicles.
A 39 year old South Bruce man has been charged with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – 16 counts
Breach of Firearms Regulation – Careless Storage – 3 counts
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – 3 counts
Fail to Comply with Undertaking – 3 counts
Altering/Destroying/Removing a Vehicle Identification Number – 2 counts
Trafficking in Stolen Goods
Fraudulent Concealment
Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking
Possession of Hydromorphone
He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 20, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
A 22 year old Huron-Kinloss woman has been charged with:
Breach of Firearms Regulation – Careless Storage – 3 counts
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – 3 counts
Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking
Possession of Hydromorphone
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – 2 counts
The accused has since been released from court with a court appearance scheduled for June 20, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
A 41year old man from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – 10 counts
Fail to Comply with Release Order – 2 counts
Fail to Comply with Undertaking – 2 counts
He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 20, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
OPP say as of 5:45 pm May 19th, the fourth accused remains outstanding.
