Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Sunday, December 18, 2022. Robert George Best, of Owen Sound, at the age of 93 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Doris Best (nee Smith). Loving father of Brad Best and his wife Kathy, of Campbell River B.C., Bev Best and his wife Jackie, of Toronto and Anne O’Halloran and her husband Jack of Vancouver, B.C. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Alex, Mitchell (Paige), Dallas, Zach, Emma and Nathan. Cherished by his great-grandchildren Lyndon, Jaxon and Presley. Bob is survived by his special friend Aulda McCauley. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews and extended families. Predeceased by his parents George and Hazel Best and his sister Doreen Harron (Lorne).
Bob loved working and golfing. His passion was meeting people which lead to a wonderful career in real estate. He was a member of the Condo Association, Georgian Shores United Church and the Silver C’s.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario, N4K 3X8, (519-376-7492) on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Fearnall officiating. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to a luncheon in the reception room for a time of fellowship. A private interment in Greenwood Cemetery has been held.
