Rick died peacefully overlooking his favourite place, his home, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 with his much loved wife of 45 years, Donna Madill Allen and his children by his side. Rick loved his children dearly, Christine and Brandon Booker of Markdale and Travis Allen of Elmira. He was so proud to call Felicity, Milo and Amelia his favourite grandchildren. He was the first of seven children and a cherished son of Emily Jane Allen (nee Stone) and the late Kenneth Richard Allen of Whitby.
Dearly remembered by his Madill family, Gerald and Geraldine Madill of Markdale, Gail and David Thompson of Markdale, Elizabeth and Bruce Thompson of Holland Centre, Melinda Croft of Markdale, and predeceased by brother-in-law Randall Madill.
Dear brother of Brenda & Jim Vilneff of Tweed, Randy Allen of Oshawa, Miriam & Laverne McFadden of Oshawa, Ron Allen & Rosie Jenkins of Courtice and Roland Allen & TC White of Bobcaygeon, brother-in-law of Bill Gardhouse of Chesley, predeceased by his sister Darlene Gardhouse and niece Brianne Gardhouse. Rick will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Much loved Uncle of Krista & Ryan Fullerton and Reid, Kendra, Jase and Kinsley; Daniel & Danielle Thompson and Bennett; Mike & Melissa Thompson and Ethan; Mark Thompson & Alyssa Bickle; Dyllan Thompson and Sierra Scott and Camdyn and Colson; Kyle Madill & Tori Cummings, Joshua Madill; Alyxandra Madill & Tyler Yurechuk.
A Celebration for friends and family will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm followed by a Goodbye. Interment in Markdale Cemetery at a later date.
