Peacefully at her Wiarton home on Tuesday January 17, 2023. Ivie Jean Whicher (nee Armstrong) in her 101st year.
Devoted mother of David, of Shallow Lake, Maxwell, of Parksville, BC, Monna, of Wiarton, and Ian (wife Rose), of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Catherine Whicher (Brian Strong), David Whicher, Sophia Whicher, and Christopher Whicher. Great-grandmother of Cody Whicher (partner Sarah), and Tyler Whicher (partner Rosita); and great-great-grandmother of Isaiah. Much loved sister-in-law of Phoebe Hall, Pat Morrow, both of Toronto, and Jim Whicher (Pattie), of Thunder Bay. Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Bert and Ethel Armstrong; husbands, Floyd Wilson (1957), and Ross Whicher (2002); daughter, Jeannie Whicher-Scott ((2014); son-in-law Larry Scott; and brothers and sisters-in-law Harry and Joyce Whicher, Alan and Mary Whicher, and Mike Hall.
A service to celebrate Jean’s long and wonderful life will be conducted from the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 12 o’clock, with a reception to follow. Spring in the Wyoming Cemetery, Lambton County.
