John Henry van Steyn

John passed away suddenly in Owen Sound, on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Born on November 26, 1952 in London, Ontario, John Henry van Steyn was in his 71st year. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Cindie Fearnall for 32 years. Loving brother of Jim (Margaret), Liz and Bill (Linda), all of London. Proud uncle of a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth (nee van der Weijden).
John was a dedicated Social Worker at Grey-Bruce Health Services for over 30 years, and also maintained a private counselling practice. He served many years on the Grey-Bruce Community Legal Clinic board of directors.
A Celebration of Life for John van Steyn will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Words of Remembrance at 2:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Salvation Army Family Services Food Bank or to the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated.
