Broadbent, Trudy – born Fogo, Newfoundland, and formally of Sauble Beach, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Gertrude “Trudy” Vivian Broadbent (nee Earle) at the age of 94 years.
Devoted wife of the late Philip Benjamin Scott Broadbent (2021) for over 66 years. Dear mother of Sharon Doucette, of St. Catharines, and Derek (Lisa), of Okanagan Falls, BC. Cherished grandmother of Jonathan Doucette (Celia), Emily Doucette (Alex), Alexander Doucette, James Doucette, Madison Broadbent, and Keegan Broadbent. Sadly missed by all her nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Bertha Earle; son, Kevin (2020); by Trudy’s siblings, Fred, George, June, Jean, Mabel, Harry, Edna, Charlie & Ethel; and by Philip’s brother, Wilfred (Ruby).
Trudy will always be remembered for her love of all card games, especially bridge, and her longstanding membership with the Sauble Sandpipers.
Visitation will be held for Trudy on Friday May 5, 2023 from the chapel of the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, 814 Bruce Rd. 8, Sauble Beach. From 11AM – 1 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1 o’clock. Interment in Zion Cemetery, Hepworth.
