The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is hosting its annual event, ‘A Time to Remember,’ live on its Facebook page this year.
The event is held in honour of Remembrance Day.
In a release, the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre says local historian Bill Streeter will give a presentation featuring Bruce County soldiers, who were the first to arrive in France with the 1st Contingent of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, and their experiences during the Battle of Givenchy on June 15th and 16th, 1915.
The museum says Streeter’s presentation will highlight stories of local soldiers, and the significance of this battle for Bruce County.
The museum says Bill Streeter is a lifelong Bruce County resident. In 2019, he was honoured with the Municipal Heritage Conservation Award from the Town of Saugeen Shores.
After his presentation there will be time for a question and answer session.
If you miss the live event, a recorded version will stay on the Museum’s Facebook page.
The event is free and is set to begin at 3p.m. on Thursday, November 5th.
Meanwhile, the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM and 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
