A house in Southgate is being deemed a total loss following a fire yesterday.
Southgate Fire Chief Derek Malynyk says they responded to the blaze on Highway 10 in Southgate Township just after 3 p.m. June 6.
No injuries were reported and the damages are estimated to be $700,000.
Malynyk says the cause of the fire is under investigation and is not suspicious in nature.
The Southgate Fire Department was joined by the Clearview, Grey Highlands, and Shelburne departments and he says the last truck left the scene just before midnight.
A total of 43 firefighters were on the scene battling the blaze and Malynyk thanks their mutual aid partners for their assistance.
