With much love and deep sorrow, the family of Isabelle Cramp (McMillan) announce that she passed away peacefully at Meaford Long Term Care surrounded by family on June 18, 2023, in her 97th year.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Gloria (Peter) Loring, Gail (Frank) Ces, John Lunn and Jerry (Suzanne) Farrow, stepchildren Jim, Kathleen, Christiane, Joseph (Noreen) and Irene, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law Meryl, Karen and Helen.
Predeceased by loving husband Garnet after 39 years of marriage (1980-2020), her parents Donald and Hattie McMillan, her daughter Marlene Brill, infant granddaughters, stepson John, step-grandson Bruce, her sister Tilley and brothers Arthur, Victor, Allan and Cameron.
Izzy was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She was President of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Shallow Lake Branch. She was very dedicated and worked tirelessly at so many Legion functions. She sold eggs for 40 years at her Owen Sound and Meaford farms. Her entire family benefited from her generous heart. She was quick to laugh and always made time for all of us. Izzy was a wonderful friend to many. She had a passion for cooking, loved life, having fun and helping others. When she walked into a room – it lit up. Izzy was a person the world needs more of.
A special thank you to all the staff at Meaford Long Term Care for the compassionate care given to our Mom. She loved you all and was so happy taking part in all activities with her new friends.
As per Isabelle’s request, there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life will be held in her honour at the Royal Canadian Legion in Owen Sound on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Private family interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 Owen Sound, the Meaford Long Term Care Auxiliary or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
