The Sauble Beach District Lions Club has donated a defibrillator for the Sauble Beach Town Square.
The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is expected to be publicly available in the event of medical emergencies.
There are also publicly accessible AEDs at the community centre, and the tennis courts at the north end of the beach.
The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation says that 35,000 people experience cardiac arrest outside of a hospital each year and that one in ten people survive cardiac arrests and the survival rate doubles when immediate action is taken.
