June White passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre at the age of 86.
Born in Meaford on June 20, 1937, the daughter of the late George and Mabel Austin.
June was the loving wife of Gordon White of 68 years and the loving mother of Anne Gordon (Marc) and Karen Trusler. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Tom Trusler.
She was the proud Grandma of five grandchildren, Cheryl Anne, Amanda, Scott, Ashley and Kyle, as well as eight great grandchildren, Kerri, Landon, Hayden, Kiera, Jaxon, Lincoln, Brynlee and Thea.
She was one of 12 children and is survived by a sisters Gladys and Shirley. and predeceased by brothers, George, Les, Bill, Roy, Don, and Harold; and sisters Agnes, Francis and Gwen.
June grew up in Meaford in the area known as Kent. She met Gordon in 1952 and they were married in 1954.
June worked at Amerock for a total of 35 years until its closing in 1990. She then worked with her husband at his painting company for many years until they both retired.
June will be remembered for her love of her family, her kindness and willingness to help others. Her favourite thing was spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre for the loving care of June for the past 3.5 years.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be conducted at the Church of Christ in Meaford on Friday July 7 at 1 p.m. with visitation the hour prior to the service. A reception will follow with an opportunity to share stories and refreshments with family and friends. A service of committal and internment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford for immediate family, following the service.
