Bruce County’s Community Paramedicine department is going to be receiving up to $2,000,000 in one-time funding from the province
The money will be received over a 2-year period between 2024 and 2026. from the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
The funding will help the Paramedicine Program continue operations.
The Program launched in January 2021, offers community-based rural healthcare and provides routine assessments and vital sign monitoring for patients, both in-person and virtually.
The additional touch points with healthcare providers help to increase capacity on long-term care wait lists, reduces demand on local emergency departments, hospitals, and paramedic services, as well as increase connections with Community Support Services.
The Bruce County Paramedicine team service more than 500 active patients, with 12-20 patient visits per day.
